How the result is calculated
The calculator validates the required dates, units and range before producing a result. Keep the inputs and the selected convention with the output so another person can reproduce it.
Read all calculation conventionsHow to read your result
Keep the inputs and conventions beside the answer. These values explain what the result measures.
| Result field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Result date | The actual Gregorian date after the selected signed offset. |
| Calendar day change | The day interval between the original and resulting dates. A month offset can have different day totals. |
| Weekday | The result’s calendar label; it is not a promise that the date is a working day. |
Days and months give different results
January 31, 2027 plus 30 calendar days is March 2. Adding one calendar month instead gives February 28 under clamping.
Try the example in the calculator above. Change one input at a time and compare the target, interval and selected rules. For a longer explanation read Adding and Subtracting Dates: Days, Weeks, Months and Years.
Conventions to keep with your result
Weeks use seven calendar days. Month and year offsets use clamped anniversaries. Weekends and public holidays remain included in ordinary date offsets.
