WORKED EXAMPLE

An April fiscal year places January in quarter four

January 15, 2027 belongs to Q4 of the fiscal year starting April 1, 2026. That quarter runs from January 1 through March 31, 2027.

Try the example in the calculator above. Change one input at a time and compare the target, interval and selected rules. For a longer explanation read Quarters and Year Progress: Calendar Dates, Fiscal Starts and Percentages.

Conventions to keep with your result

This calculator uses four consecutive three-month quarters. It does not model 4-4-5 retail calendars, week-based fiscal years or a jurisdiction’s reporting requirements.

Current dates keep moving forward. Today follows the selected calendar time zone. Rule-based Gregorian dates are generated for the requested year. A fixed input remains the visitor's chosen date. External holiday records require coverage for that year.
