How to use world clock

  1. Read the current browser-local clock and its zone.

  3. Use the converter for a future meeting date.
  4. Use full screen for a larger local clock.

Compare the current time in cities around the world.

How the result is calculated

Current instant → local time in each displayed IANA zone

The calculator validates the required dates, units and range before producing a result. Keep the inputs and the selected convention with the output so another person can reproduce it.

WORKED EXAMPLE

The world clock compares one current instant

A city can already be on the next calendar date while another is still on the previous one. Current clocks do not predict the offset for a future meeting.

Try the example in the calculator above. Change one input at a time and compare the target, interval and selected rules. For a longer explanation read Planning Meetings Across Time Zones: Use One Shared Instant.

Conventions to keep with your result

The clock follows the device’s current instant. It is not a certified time source. For critical timing confirm the device clock and official schedule.

Current dates keep moving forward. Today follows the selected calendar time zone. Rule-based Gregorian dates are generated for the requested year. A fixed input remains the visitor's chosen date. External holiday records require coverage for that year.

World Clock: frequently asked questions

Does changing the calendar selector change the big clock?

The big clock is browser-local. The calendar selector controls date-only pages.

Can the clock compare future meeting times?

Use the UTC converter for a chosen future instant.

Does full screen require support?

Yes. If the browser does not support it the clock still works on the page.
