WORKED EXAMPLE

A day milestone is independent of calendar age

January 1, 2000 plus 10,000 elapsed calendar days is May 19, 2027. It is not the same as a whole-year birthday.

Try the example in the calculator above. Change one input at a time and compare the target, interval and selected rules. For a longer explanation read Birthday and Anniversary Dates: Targets, Recurrences and Leap Days.

Conventions to keep with your result

Zero elapsed days is the original date. This follows date-only midnight boundaries, not a precise birth time. “The 10,000th named day” can differ if the birth date is called day one.

Current dates keep moving forward. Today follows the selected calendar time zone. Rule-based Gregorian dates are generated for the requested year. A fixed input remains the visitor's chosen date. External holiday records require coverage for that year.
