How to read your result

Keep the inputs and conventions beside the answer. These values explain what the result measures.

Result fieldMeaning
Milestone dateThe chosen calendar-age anniversary anchored to the birth date.
Days from todayA signed interval: a negative value places the target before today.
Target ageThe age entered by the visitor; no pension or eligibility age is inferred.
WORKED EXAMPLE

Calendar years retain the birthday anchor

A May 10, 2000 birth date reaches its 30-year anniversary on May 10, 2030. This is a calendar anniversary rather than 30 × 365 days.

Try the example in the calculator above. Change one input at a time and compare the target, interval and selected rules. For a longer explanation read Birthday and Anniversary Dates: Targets, Recurrences and Leap Days.

Conventions to keep with your result

The target age is entered by the visitor. A retirement target does not establish pension or employment eligibility. Leap-day anniversaries clamp to February 28 in common years.

Current dates keep moving forward. Today follows the selected calendar time zone. Rule-based Gregorian dates are generated for the requested year. A fixed input remains the visitor's chosen date. External holiday records require coverage for that year.

Birthday Calculator: frequently asked questions

Does the tool choose an official target age?

No. It calculates the visitor’s chosen age anniversary.

Does February 29 become March 1?

The lab uses February 28 clamping. A governing rule may specify another date.

Can the age target be in a future year?

Yes. The target is calculated from the original date and the entered age rather than an annual lookup list.
